Let’s sit by the creek.

This is a poem I wrote for my little self recently:

Let’s sit by the creek together and put our feet in the water.

I want to hear everything that is in your heart.

What stirs your soul and makes you laugh?

When do you feel most at home in your body?

What makes you worried or scared?

What do you dream about?

I want to really know you sweet one. I want to take you into my heart and hold you there so that you know you are never alone.

You are so beautiful exactly as you are and this life is meant for you. Everything is always organizing itself for you. The birds sing for you, the trees sway in the wind for you, the lightning flashes and the rain falls just for you. This life is your incredible playground to grow and learn and feel and create.

I see your beautiful soul and I love your passion and curiosity. I love your big heart and your empathic knowing. I love that you tune into nature and communicate with the birds. That you get lost in books and feel so deeply. You are a unique and special being and I celebrate you as you stumble and I celebrate you in your joy. There is nothing to change or fix. You are made from God and there could be nothing more perfect than you.

Tell me everything sweet one. Share your brave heart with mine and let’s splash our feet in the creek until it’s time to go home.
